‘The 2023 Drabble Prize Competition’ is announced!
Please join in this excellent competition, last won by ‘Doz’ Hughes (D. Osbourne Hughes, author of ‘The Last Celt’, ‘Above the Italian Woods’ and many other excellent works).
The subject, chosen by member Mark Thompson, author of ‘Dust’ and ‘Eternal City’, is:
‘Duplicity’
100 words exactly is the requirement (a ‘drabble’). Submissions as inventive and creative as possible please in any genre except poetry. Submissions by 1 May 2023 should be in a Word document: Calibri font size 12 pt with 1.5 spacing to: davidlewis@brynstowe.co.uk. Entries will be judged by a selection of members of ‘The Writing Knights of Gimborn’ (members who have been elected to this body having attended Gimborn Writer’s Seminars: see the section on this on the site for further details).
Big thank you to Andy Gregory Photography for the first prize of a mounted photograph from his exceptional collection, Mark Thompson for the second prize of a copy of ‘Dust’, his top- selling novel, and D.B. Lewis (author of ‘One Day in December’ and other works) for the third prize of ‘A Little Bit of Trouble in London’, his story of a young ‘Bobby’ in 1970’s London.
