David Lewis

David (‘D.B. Lewis’) is a non-fiction author, editor, and publisher based in Yorkshire.
David specialises in all forms of biography (memoir, diary, essay, literary journalism). Also historical, cultural and travel works as well as poetry and anthologies and a series of young people’s stories.

David is a member of the ‘Authors Club’, a Literacy Champion for the National Literacy Trust, and the current chair of the International Police Association Section UK Writers Special Interest Group and The Global Writers Forum.  He is currently working on a major biography of the Holcroft dynasty of West Midlands Ironmasters.
 

David is an editor and the Director of 'Bryn Stowe Publications', a bespoke publishing house in North Yorkshire specializing primarily in all forms of biography usually publishing around six books per year. 

 

Manuscripts are not currently being accepted for consideration by the house except by invitation as the order book is now full for 2023. Current books in the process of publication include 'Twenty-Two Letters from Ukraine' a story of one family's flight from the front line in 2022, 'Stolen Youth' the story of a Latvian prisoner during the Second World War, 'Middlebrook Magic' a fantasy story for young teens, and 'Sam Saves the Planet' the fourth in the 'Sam the Superhero' collection of children's stories. Publication dates in 2023 will be posted in due course. 

 

David is also an Associate of The London Policing College where he specializes in curriculum development, case study writing and developing 'English in Policing' degree programmes around the world. He is a coach on the 'Improving English' programmes at the International Education Centre, Gimborn and teaches English to refugees in the UK.
