Ann Cumberland

Ann Cumberland is a writer, adventurer, and traveller. She has raised funds for Ethiopia’s ‘Live Aid” parachuting from a small aircraft and has travelled all over Europe and to New Zealand experiencing life at an exciting pace.

From gliding to delivering yachts across the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas she spent two weeks on board a Polish ‘Tall Ship’, taking to the helm and learning new skills. With a love of the sea, she spent several years in the Royal Navy Reserve and later found herself water skiing to raise funds for Cancer Research. Ann is also a qualified diving instructor with the British Sub Aqua Club.

Ann lives with her husband Andy in Northern Ireland. She is the current Vice Chair of the International Police Association’s Global Writers’ Forum. Her love of writing began in her teens and she became a keen poet, regularly submitting poetry for publication. She enjoys writing short stories which she has continued to do over the years. ‘Which Way to The Gambia’, raising funds for the purchase of another bike or two for the youngsters of this wonderful country, is her first book.
